Remember from the 70's
'The Incredible Edible Egg'
And then there was that
fabulous TV commercial with
The Bacon Brothers!
I had the video here on my website.
I thought it was great! But then
they took it down and replaced it
with one I'm not as fond of.
I at least found this picture.
So you may remember them singing
the 'Egg' song.
Have you ever watched somebody
cooking eggs and you see them
cracking the eggs open, then
separating the egg whites into
a bowl while throwing out the
egg yolks? Yikes!! What the heck
are they doing? If you ask them
they will probably say something
like,"Only the egg whites are
healthy and nutritious.
The egg yolks are bad for you.
That's where all the horrible fat and
cholesterol is."
NO! NO! NO!
That's where all the good nutrition
is! People have gotten so confused
by all the bad information out there
about health and nutrition, that
people think the egg yolk is bad
when the truth is, the yolk is the
healthiest part of the egg. The
whole 'Egg White' thing is so
popular, go into almost any
restaurant serving breakfast and
you'll see --------
'Egg White Omelet'
on the menu. So sad!
When you throw out the egg yolk,
you are basically throwing out all
the nutrients. The Antioxidants,
B-Vitamins, Vitamin A, Trace
Minerals, Folate, Choline, Lutein
and so many other powerful
nutrients, the list is HUGE.
Check out this comparison of
Egg White vs Egg Yolk.

I know, charts and graphs make me
go cross-eyed too. But take a
moment to just scan down
this chart quickly and there are a
couple of things that should jump
out at you.
First, look at all the low numbers,
even 0's, in the 'White' column.
Then look at the last column
which shows the % of the nutrient
in the 'Yolk' and you'll see, for the
most part, all high numbers, even
100%. Meaning there ain't squat in
the 'White'
And, even though you see more
Protein in the white than the yolk,
the protein in egg whites alone are
not powerful enough. They need
the protein in the yolk to balance
out the amino acid profile making it
more bio-available.
And don't freak out because you
see more Fat in the Yolk than in
the White. Remember what I
talked about in the article
“Burn Belly Fat With Vege's”,
not all Fats are bad!
Another common objection you
hear from people is;
“But if I eat whole eggs my
cholesterol will go through the roof!”
No! No! No! No!
(Sounds like that Ringo Starr song)
Our bodies work so wonderfully!
You see, our bodies automatically
regulate it's internal production of
cholesterol. When we eat a food
that contains a high amount of
cholesterol, then our body will
receive a signal to produce less.
And conversely, if we don't eat
enough cholesterol, then our body
will simply produce more, because
cholesterol has dozens of important
and vital functions in your body.
It is present in EVERY cell in the
human body and it's needed for
those cells to function normally.
And just like there are
Good Fats vs Bad Fats;
there are Good Cholesterol (HDL)
vs Bad Cholesterol (LDL)
and there have been a bunch of
studies that show eating whole eggs
(not just the whites) actually raises
those good HDL's which improves
your overall cholesterol and your
blood chemistry. So just because
some pharmaceutical company
wants everyone in the world on a
Statin Drug (they love those profits)
they try to make us believe we all
need to lower our cholesterol
and that's just a bunch of hooey!
Oh, and just like you want your
milk from happy cows, you want
your eggs from happy chickens.
So, make sure they are
'Free-range'.
A teensy bit more expensive,
but you're worth it.
So, unless you're making a
lemon meringue pie,
stop separating those eggs!
